Favorite Foto Friday - Andy & Addy Star in "To Catch a Cat"

We survived our first weekend with two little ones. Andy hosted his cousin Addy for a sleepover this weekend. We went to a birthday party, walked to the park and terrorized the cats. The weekend went so quickly, we realized we didn't take as many pictures as we thought. We did however get some great pictures of a new game Andy and Addy played...Who can get closest to the cat. PLEASE NOTE: GRACIE HAD NO PART IN THIS GAME. Here is how the game unfolded.

Addy: What do you do for fun around here?
Andy: I sneak up on the cats and see how close I can get before they run away.
Addy: Sounds like fun. Let's play.
Andy: Let the Games Begin!
Andy: I pretend to be asleep to lure them close.
Addy: That's good, but I can do better.

Addy: Now it's my turn!

Addy: I'll lure him with some fresh milk...."Here Kitty, Kitty"

Addy: SUCCESS!!!

FFF - a Quickie

We are having our 1st overnight w/Addy (my niece) this weekend, so no time to post! Thought I'd put up a few pics from last year at this time...sometimes I can't believe how much Andy has grown. I will report on our weekend adventures w/two kids under two...we're in hour number 2 and so far there has only been 1 minor incident involving my cats, a banana and a sippy cup. Both kids are fed and dressed - and it only took me an hour!

Favorite Foto Friday - Baby Van Gogh

One of the things Chris & I are enjoying most about Andy at this age is that he is constantly learning new things and making new discoveries. The last few weeks we have been working on colors and this week he finally got it. As a result, he is suddenly very interested in coloring. As luck would have it, we just ordered Andy a new mattress for his new "big boy" room and we are keeping it in our family room until his bed arrives. Well, the box is the perfect canvas for his 1st masterpiece and he has devoted many hours to it this week. I don't think he feels it is complete yet, but here is what he has accomplished so far: You can see that he is obviously very dedicated to his box art, so you can probably understand why after a few days of close observation, I decided I could give him a little space. I was working in the kitchen the other afternoon, halfway tuning in to the sound of Andy coloring on the box. Suddenly, I hear the sound of the crayon scribbling on something that is DEFINITELY not a box, followed by a second of silence and then Andy's little voice saying "oh wow". I turn the corner and find he's moved onto other mediums....I could've yelled, but who am I to stand in the way of an emerging artist? Besides, this is what they make Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for!

FFF - Labor Day

A few pictures from our Labor Day weekend. We went up to Lake Geneva Saturday night & Sunday and then had a family cookout at my parents' house on Monday. Andy & Addy are starting to really enjoy playing together - it is so cute to watch them chase each other around. Actually, I think Andy may like "baby" (as he calls her) a little too much...every morning when we come downstairs he runs to the door and says "baby, baby, baby" repeatedly & throws a major tantrum if I tell him we can't go see her. Hopefully he thinks Aidan is just as much fun!

Aidan News - Step 1 Complete!

We finally received our legals today from Korea!

Now the legals are sent to DCFS for approval, which should take a few weeks. Hopefully it won't take us double the estimated time to complete like the first step did - I think I used up all my patience :)

We will keep everyone posted on our progress...I really hope this means Aidan will be home w/us by Christmas!
